If you want to know how to make extra money on the side, you probably want to do it with a minimum investment of time and resources. If we had unlimited hours during the week, this wouldn’t even be a problem, right?
The best way I know of today to make some extra money is to use the Internet. The Internet works the best to make some extra cash for two major reasons. First, you can work any time, any place, so you don’t have to be tied down to a time or place like you do with traditional work. This makes working on the computer more flexible than other options. Second, you can create online assets that will work for you even when you are not working – indeed, I’ve created some online properties that make money for me while I’m sleeping!
Thus, here are three great ways to make extra money on the side that encompass both of these above concepts. All of them make use of the Internet, so at the very least you’ll need a computer and an Internet connection to make use of these ideas.
How to Make Extra Money on the Side
(1) Search engine evaluation. This method sounds fancy, I know, but it’s actually quite easy once you learn about it. Basically, you work for search engines like Google and evaluate their search results for certain keywords. You have to apply for the job through companies like Leapforce, but once you get in you’ll be making $10-15 per hour. You’ll have to do some training and a couple of tests, too, in order to get hired.
(2) Write online. This is a method I’ve done to great success – working only 10 hours a week I was able to pull in an extra $150-$200 per week, all from the comfort of my computer. I’m a pretty decent and quick writer, so that helped my money making potential, but you can still make some good money (certainly higher than minimum wage) by writing online. You can try sites like Demand Studios and Textbroker, or you can find your own clients. You will get paid per word or per article; I like the first option better.
(3) Create online assets that will pay you today and tomorrow. There are many ways to do this at varying levels of technical expertise, though none of them are strictly difficult. The easiest way to break into this is to use Web 2.0 content sites like Youtube, HubPages, and Squidoo to write articles that will earn you money through ad revenue and other methods. Once you get a bit more experienced and advanced, you can create your own websites and blogs that will generate money for you in the short and long run. Note that this method isn’t as immediate as the above two methods, as you’ll have to put some work into it before it pays off, but it’s probably the most lucrative and has the highest long term value.
