4 Ways to Make More Money

Sometimes when you want to make money, it’s not about getting another job or embarking on some other full-time project. Only a few years ago, there weren’t many opportunities to make extra money except the standard methods – odd jobs, part-time work, selling your stuff, and so on. Today, however, the picture has changed – you can make extra money from the comfort of home through your computer, as long as you know where to look and how to proceed. Thus, here are four ways to make more money that don’t require dozens of extra hours of work during the week. How much and how often you work simply depends on how much extra money you need…

Four Ways to Make More Money

(1) Try online data entry, such as through sites like Amazon’s Mechanical Turk and other so-called “microworker” sites. If you are looking for ways to make more money in relatively small amounts, then this is the way to go – you won’t be making hundreds of dollars a week with this method, but you can make some spare cash relatively easily. I’ve used this site while watching TV and movies – easy as pie.

(2) Freelance online. This is perhaps a bit more advanced method, as you’ll be doing real ‘work’ for other people. However, the ‘work’ involved doesn’t have to be that advanced if you don’t want it or don’t have the skills for it. For instance, you can use a site like Fiverr to get $5 payments for repeatable jobs, such as commenting on people’s videos or their blogs.

(3) Online writing. There are many sites that let you do this, such as Textbroker and The Content Authority. You can pick from a wide selection of article types, and get paid by the word for doing so. If you aren’t a great writer, don’t worry – you can start at the lowest ‘rating’ level and work yourself up. You can even get paid for “rewriting” articles – this is very easy to do and you’ll get paid .5 cents a word or more! You can easily make $15 an hour and up with this method, and the money is directly deposited into your PayPal account.

(4) Trade stocks online. Take care with this method: you can actually lose money too, if you’re not careful! Still, if you have some money to invest, and make smart choices, you can make a handy profit and even set up streams of passive income. This method works well with online brokers today, as their commissions are so low that they won’t eat into your trades very heavily.

Can You Work at Home Stuffing Envelopes?

With the economy down in the dumps, many people need a secondary – or even primary! – source of income to help pay the bills. Many of these people – you may be one of them – needs this work to be at home, simply because they already have other responsibilities – jobs or families – that take up other time and energy. One of the more common “work at home opportunities” that many people look to do is stuffing envelopes. But can you work at home stuffing envelopes? Is it a scam?

The Truth About Working at Home Stuffing Envelopes

Unfortunately, the great majority of the time, this is a total scam. Some of the scams are obvious – there is no way that you’ll be able to make $3000 a month simply stuffing envelopes – it makes zero economic sense to the business to pay this much when they could get the work done for a fraction of the price.

Some of these “opportunities” require you to pay money for start-up kits or some other such requriements – this is another obvious aspect of the scam, as this is truly where the scammers are making money. No legitimate opportunity shoudl require you to lay out money like this without definite chance of a return on your investment, so be mindful whenever you hear this kind of opportunity.

Many of these scams eventually turn into pyramid schemes – your goal is to find other people to stuff envelopes. When you do, you get a commission! What a rip and an obvious scam – all the money that is earned is by smoke and mirrors. Worst of all, the scammers turn you into a scammer!

Now, I don’t want to categorically say that all stuffing envelope opportunities are scams – I’ll undoubtedly get e-mails from envelope stuffers who contradict me on that point! I do want to say, however, that certainly the majority of these jobs are scams. This is simply because they are preying on people who are in need of money and work, and as a result these people may often make mistakes and fall for scams that they normally wouldn’t.

Evaluating These Opportunities

Thus, when evaluating an opportunity that you come across, make sure it doesn’t immediately fail the first two tests – unsubstantiated income claims and required up-front investments from stuffers. Then, if the job still seems legit, look for reviews before you dive in. Don’t bother asking the company – if they are scammers, why would they tell you so? Instead, do a Google search for the specific company that you’re thinking about working with. You should be able to find out the truth relatively quickly.

Other Work at Home Opps Besides Stuffing Envelopes

Better yet, skip the whole stuffing envelopes thing anyway. Instead of trying to work at home stuffing envelopes, make use of the hundreds and thousands of other business opportunities out there that you can start at home. Besides, doing that kind of mind numbing work will get tiring after awhile. There are so many opportunities out there – freelancing, data entry, writing, transcription, internet marketing, and much more – that it’s a shame to waste your time with less lucractive opportunities.

3 Work From Home Ideas for Men

Many of the traditional methods of making money are becoming more difficult than ever before – the typical track of “get an education, work hard, and succeed” isn’t quite what it used to be. This is a challenge, especially for many men who have banked on this ‘promise.’

Luckily, the world wide web has many opportunities to make money for those who know where to look. They are possibilities for both men and women. Thus, it is possible for a man to stay at home and work on his computer while also taking care of the kids and fulfilling other responsibilities. The days of commuting to a 9-5 dead end job can be squished if you know exactly what to do.

Starting a new career on the Internet can be scary, especially given all the scams out there. Thus, I wrote this article as a beginning guide for those who need help. Here are three work from home ideas for men that can be used right now to begin creating a second income stream – or maybe even a primary income stream some day.

Three Work From Home Ideas for Men

{1} Freelance online. Anyone who has any experience with freelance in the real world knows how potentially lucrative this option can be. Freelancing through sites like Elance can give you many opportunities to make a side income. Once you build up a steady clientele, you can convert this into a full-time position. Even when you start, though, you can use it as a part-time or secondary income that will allow you to make money from home without requiring you to get a second job and run through that whole mess. The only drawback with freelancing is that you’ll need some ‘skill’ to sell to others. It can be as basic as writing ability or as ‘advanced’ as computer programming knowledge. Do some searches around to see what skills people are willing to pay for – you may be surprised.

(2) Affiliate marketing. This method takes a little longer to get going, but once you have the momentum behind it, it can be incredibly lucrative. Best of all, you don’t need any special skills to get started – you just need the knowledge of where to start. With affiliate marketing, you provide links to products for other people to click on. When these people click on your links and buy products, you are paid a commission. It’s a great way to make some spare change or, in time, a full-time income or more. The basics to get started – create a blog or create articles on article sites like HubPages. Then, create content related to whatever product you’re selling. I suggest starting with Amazon, as you’ll be able to promote nearly any product that you want with it.

(3) The last of the work from home ideas for men is doing simple data entry. This is relatively ‘unskilled’ work, so you won’t get paid much for it at first. One place to find data entry work is on Amazon’s Mechanical Turk. You’ll be paid per task, though the wages are usually quite low. A great way to find legit data entry work is through the freelancing route – become someone’s assistant or data entry persona nd you’ll have a significant stream of work that you can complete whenever you want.

3 Companies That Need People to Work From Home

Working at home is a dream for many people, and why should it not be? Being able to avoid the daily commute, spend more time with family, and set your own hours is obviously desirable to almost anyone. However, finding a legitimate opportunity to work at home is very difficult. For everyone real opportunity there are dozens of scams or hoaxes that exist simply to prey on well-meaning people who just want to work from home.

I spent a lot of time doing research to find the most legitimate and lucrative companies to work for from home. To give you a taste of some of the companies and opportunities I’ve found, this article will give you three companies that need people to work from home. All these companies are still “hiring,” so if you have the skills and the desire, you’ll be able to start making money within the next few days or weeks. You can do these jobs part-time, so you can use them to supplement an already existing part-time or full-time income. Some people even get so advanced as to make a full-time income out of these opportunities, but let’s start small.

Three Companies That Need People to Work From Home

1. Demand Studios – this company provides content (in the form of writing and video) to millions of users a month. As a freelancer with this company, you will be providing them with content in exchange for immediate compensation. For instance, if you write articles for them, you’ll usually get paid around $15 per 400 word article. Obviously, you’ll need to have some writing skills to do this job, but it’s a great way to make some extra money in your spare time when you get proficient.

2. Leapforce – this is a legitimate company that is actually hiring people to do search engine evaluation. Essentially what you do with this company is visit search engines like Google and see how good their search results are for certain keywords. To get hired by this company, you have to apply and go through a training process, including taking a final test to see how good you are at the job. However, once you do get the job, you can log hours anytime and make anywhere from $12-$15 an hour.

3. Google – this one is a bit more unofficial than the others, but it’s perhaps the most lucrative in the short and long run. The Google AdSense program is a way for you to make money by monetizing your own websites and your own content. Simply put Google’s ad code on your site and Google will serve ads based on the content you create. For instance, if you write about weight loss, Google will serve weight loss ads to your readers. Over time, as the traffic to your sites grows, the amount of clicks you get will also increase, increasing the passive income that you can earn.

I’m 17 and I Need a Job! 14 Ways to Find Employment

When times are good, it’s hard for a 17-year-old, or a teen in general, to get a well-paying job; in bad times, it’s hard to get a job at all. The problem is experience – you need to have experience in order to get it.

However, the situation isn’t hopeless, of course, as long as you use your creativity and ambition to get the job you want. Of course, the key is to get moving – you can’t do what everyone else in your position does and hope to somehow have a different outcome from the rest of your peers. Instead of sitting around thinking, “I’m 17 and I need a job,” go out there and do something about it by following these fourteen ways to get employment:

  1. You can’t be picky. This is the first rule. Don’t try to find the “perfect job” and turn down a perfectly good offer in the hope of finding something that is absolutely perfect. Of course, don’t take a job that will make you miserable – no job is worth that – but you might have to temper your expectations a bit.
  2. It’s also about attitude – have the right one. Don’t expect things to be handed to you, and be willing to work hard. Make sure you communicate this. Also, it’s not a bad idea to emphasize that you’re taking minimum wage – it may help your case.
  3. Consider writing a resume and a cover letter to include with your application. This will help take your app to the next level, as you’ll look more serious and professional.
  4. Your first bet is to canvass your local town and any other area within walking/biking/driving distance that you can reliably get to every day. Start with the usual suspects – food service and retail. These jobs are more likely to hire you with little experience and even if you’re young. Show up at these stores and ask for an application; if possible, try to speak to a manager. You’ll want to show your maturity and eagerness in person, as this will help the manager remember you when it comes time to make calls.
  5. You should make follow-up calls to the places that really interested you in order to make yourself known even more. You want to appear ambitious, responsible, and mature, so the more you can make yourself memorable for the good reasons, the better your chances of getting a job. Ultimately, though, this is a numbers game – many businesses deal with heavy turnover, so they’re always looking for applicants, even if they have no openings at the moment. Don’t get discouraged if you hand in dozens of applications to no avail.
  6. You can also check local newspapers for listings; some of them might advertise to teens your age directly.
  7. You can also look for other kinds of jobs that cater to teens, such as working at summer camps and other summertime activities. If you need a summer job, you should start looking in the spring in order to beat the rush.
  8. Try to make money online. There are plenty avenues for this, such as freelance writing, freelance web design, website and blog advertising revenue, creating digital products, and more. Do a little research and think about your strengths; leverage them into cash. Try surveys or completing other offers. Note that some of these money making programs may have minimum age requirements; many require you to be 18, so make sure you qualify before you attempt to apply.
  9. If you have an entrepreneurial spirit, why not trying to open up your own business? This doesn’t have to be something elaborate or expensive, of course. You could mow lawns, babysit or housesit, shovel snow, walk dogs, help move heavy objects – nearly anything that requires grunt labor of some kind! Go around your neighborhood and ask your neighbors if they need any assistance with anything; you can then get referrals for more business later.
  10. If you have some sort of product you can sell, like food, crafts, and the like, you could also try opening up a business and sell these items.
  11. You probably have a bunch of stuff lying around your room that you don’t want or need anymore – consider selling it, either at a yard sale, pawn shop, or online. In fact, the online route is probably your best option, as you’ll be able to reach a huge market and thus get a good price for your goods.
  12. If you are good at school, tutor kids and other students. You’re not going to command huge prices because you haven’t even graduated yet, but you could ask for $10 – $15 per hour.
  13. Check sites like Craigslist for job postings that you might be able to fill. Of course, always be careful when responding to these ads, as you’ll want to avoid creepers and multilevel marketing schemes alike. Still, this could be a quick and easy way to earn a few bucks.
  14. In sum, use your creativity and come up with your own ideas in addition to (or because of) the ones listed above.

I Need to Make Money Right Now…10 Ways to Earn Money Online

“I need to make money right now,” you say. You’ve probably exhausted all the offline avenues of money making (part-time jobs, odd jobs, selling items and gold at yard sales and pawn shops, etc.). You probably don’t want to go the more aggressive and risky route – taking on debt with credit cards and payday loans. But you’ve probably not exhausted the one gold mine that does exist – the world wide web.

People are spending more time on the Internet than ever before – nearly every multimedia and social function is being fulfilled online, from movies and TV to literature and the arts and social networking and dating. It makes sense, then, that many people have learned how to make money online right now, with little investment needed besides time and effort.

But where do you begin? How can we make money online if we don’t even know where to start? The internet neophyte is probably unaware of all the easy money that’s out there. There are many books and reports that can give you ten ways to make money online – here is one useful beginner’s report (click here). All you need is a computer, an internet connection, and a dash of creativity and hard work. You also need some information – so here are ten easy ways to make money online:

  1. The first is an extension of an offline way to make money – sell your stuff. You probably have a bunch of stuff lying around your house and garage that you don’t use anymore. You probably think that no one would want it, much less pay for it – but you’d be wrong. In fact, opening up the market to the world (literally) will give you more chances not only to sell your goods but to actually fetch a decent return. To start, check out sites like Amazon, Ebay, and Craigslist (for larger items that can only be sold locally). For instance, if you have a lot of books lying around your house, you can easily sell them on the Amazon Marketplace. You’d be surprised at what some rare and in-demand books can get you. This is essentially free money lying around your house, so don’t skip this step!
  2. The rise of the internet has also seen the rise of companies that hire workers online. You can easily telecommute and do the work that you need to do and earn a paycheck at the same time. Many of these companies, like Lionbridge and Leapforce, will let you pick flexible hours – you can work whenever and however you want. This flexibility is great for those who already have an offline job but need something more to supplement their income.
  3. Try online surveys and other offers. There are some scams out there associated with these types of programs, but if you find legit ones, you can make some decent money with little investment of time.
  4. Start an online part-time freelancing business. To do this, you first need to figure out what skills you have to offer to potential clients. For instance, let’s say that you are skilled at web design. There are plenty of individuals and businesses that could use help getting an online presence or sprucing up an already existing one. Visit sites like oDesk and Elance to find opportunities. You can also eventually build your own brand so that clients come to you – and return often.
  5. If you are a writer, you can easily get money by writing for sites like Demand Studios, Textbroker, The Content Authority, and others that offer up front payments for writing. You won’t be able to write about what you want – you’re working for a client with specific instructions – but it’s a great way to make quick money from the comfort of your home.
  6. There are also plenty of writing opportunities available aside from the typical freelance route. For instance, one of the best free ways to make money online is to write for sites like Hubpages and Squidoo. You write your own content and get a cut of the advertising revenue that your content generates. The more articles you write, and the more visitors you get, the more you make. Better yet, this money will be residual and passive income – once your “Hubs” are up and running, you just sit back and collect the cash. Note that you’ll have to learn some basics about search engine optimization and keyword research to really hit it big, but this is a great route for those who really enjoy to write.
  7. You can also cut out the middle man and make your own websites. In a sense, you are making your own “Hubpages” website and publishing your own content. You can then make revenue based off advertising (such as through programs like Google Adsense) or through affiliate commissions (like through the Amazon Associates program).
  8. In fact, if you really want to hit it big, you can start your own online business. What you sell or provide as a service is up to you, but usually digital products are the best, as it will require little up front investment and little overhead – your profit margins will thus be quite high. For instance, if you know a lot about a particular topic, you can write an Ebook and sell it through Clickbank. They will provide all the billing and delivery services you need, and you can easily find affiliates to help sell your work for you.
  9. If you want to know how to make money right now, look no further than sites like Amazon’s Mechanical Turk. You can do small HITs (human intelligence tasks) that will net you anywhere from a nickel to a dollar per more per task. You won’t make a great hourly wage (somewhere in the region of $5-6) but it’s a great way to earn spare cash while you’re doing something else like watching TV or relaxing.
  10. Teach someone something. If you have some skill that others want, whether it’s music, language, or school subjects and test knowledge, you can find people willing to pay you to share your knowledge and ability. You can tutor over Skype or even offer webinars.

I’m 14 and I Need a Job! 14 Ways to Make Money for Teens

If you are 14 years old, it is not legal for you to get an actual job. However, most companies, outside of usual suspects like fast food joints, will not take 14 year olds, especially in times of bad economies when they can have access to an older and more skilled labor pool. So if you are 14 years old and need to get a job to make money, the traditional job and McDonald’s may not be in your future. In addition, you need work that can be scheduled around your school times. Think it’s hopeless? Think again! Here are fourteen ways to get a job and/or make cash, even if you are 14 years old and have no experience:

  1. The first tip: don’t just sit around whining, “I’m 14 and I need a job!” You actually have to do something about it in order to get the work you need. Asking mom or dad or your friends won’t help – take your own initiative. By reading this article you’ve started the first important step of this process.
  2. Even though you are young, you can still begin your own business, or at the very least learn the fundamentals such that you can eventually run a business that can pull in real cash.
  3. Apply to as many jobs as possible – in the end, it’s going to be a numbers game for you. If you’ve had job experience, consider getting help with writing a resume that will help give you the edge over your competitors.
  4. Don’t be picky! Take what you can get. If you are 14, you will have fewer options until you get older, so take work that you don’t mind and that pays decently enough (read: minimum wage).
  5. We assume that you’ve already tried the usual avenues for work. Paper routes, fast food joints, eateries, small shops, and retail are the usual places to find work. If it’s the summer, pools, parks, and camps are also popular. If you are looking for summer work, be sure to start looking before June – begin your search in March or April in order to line up the best jobs.
  6. Indeed, if you can’t find a traditional job, why not go into business for yourself by doing some part-time work for people you know? You are nearly old enough to babysit, and if you can handle a lawn mower, mowing lawns is an easy way to make quick bank. You can also shovel snow, rake leaves, walk dogs, and do other odd jobs for people in your neighborhood. Again, make sure you work for people you know – be careful around strangers – but don’t be afraid to branch out and grow your business. This is a great way to earn money and gain the experience you’ll need later in your life!
  7. Sell stuff. You probably have a lot of gear and possessions that just sit around the house, garage, and attic collecting dust. Well dust them off and sell them at garage sales or pawn shops. Better yet, try online options like Amazon, Craigslist, and Ebay to reach a global audience. Make sure you have your parents’ help with this, of course, as they’ll have to work out the financial aspects of it. Make sure you know how to package and send out the shipments, too!
  8. Try to make money online. There are plenty of opportunities out there for those who have the skills to market. What are you good at? If you are a good writer, you could try writing for websites to make money. Online surveys and other offers may also be an option.
  9. Note, however, many of these sites have an age minimum of at least 18, so you may not be able to get this work.
  10. Ask your parents. They may have odd jobs for you to do that can earn you a few extra bucks.
  11. Note: state and national laws may limit the number of hours you can work during a school week, so keep this in mind when making extra money. Most importantly, don’t let work get in the way of your studies. If you find your grades slipping, cut back on your hours or quit altogether – don’t sacrifice your long term future for a few dollars now!
  12. If you are 14, and look it, you need to act and look as mature as possible. If you look like a kid, no place will hire you. If you act like a kid, no place will hire you. Thus, dress nicely whenever you talk to a manager or go on an interview. Convey maturity beyond your years, a willingness to learn and work hard, and the willingness to take minimum wage and work as many hours as you can (legally). This will set you apart from the herd and, honestly, may even give you an edge over older applicants and employees.
  13. Make sure you get all your paperwork in order. If you get a ‘real’ job, you will have to have your work permit in order to get a legal job.
  14. Don’t stress out! Wait a bit! You have all your life to work, so don’t freak out if you don’t find something now. Get a bit older and apply that work ethic and you’ll be ready to go far.

  6. Do you use Facebook? Why not monetize the time you spend on this popular network. Social media is the next big thing, so you can be the next to jump on this fad. While these marketing and business ideas are still being developed, there are some systems and ideas out there to help turn your Facebook time into cash.
  7. If you get really good at the online game, you can try to sell domains online. This only works if you know how this business works, and if you can anticipate what the most popular domains will be, but it’s a great way to make quick coin once you do master the system.
  8. You can try a quick stock flip – as long as you know what you’re doing, of course, as you can quickly lose money if you don’t know what you’re doing, putting you even more in the hole. For instance, if you get a tip on a penny stock, you could double your money – or more – in short period of time.
  9. Try selling stuff you have, either offline or online. Offline you could sell your gear to friends or family, or you could hold a garage sale to make quick bucks. If you sell your stuff online, there are plenty of sites that you can put up free or cheap ads for anything from furniture to video game systems. Try Ebay, Amazon, or Craigslist.
  10. You can find old stuff or used stuff at garage sales, junk yards, pawn shops, libraries, and so on. You can then refurbish the stuff (if necessary) and resell it for more than you paid for it. This works especially well if you have certain skills that will make the process go smoother and more effectively – for instance, if you can refurbish computers quickly, you will have a nice little business on the side. Think of what skills you have and what you may be able to do with those skills.
  11. What can you do well? If you are good at something, you may be able to monetize it. There are a lot of ways to do this, and it ultimately depends on what you can do, but think it over and be creative.
  12. Indeed, if you are good at something, why not try to teach it? For instance, if you are a musician, offer lessons to those who want to learn your instrument. You can put up your ad for free on Craigslist and make a bundle, as long as someone’s looking for your talent, of course.
  13. Reduce your expenses. This is an interesting way to earn money, as you’re not technically earning it. However, if you cut $500 out of your budget, the result is the same as earning it – an extra $500 in your bank account.
  14. Find old junk and resell it, or fix it up and resell it. One person’s junk is another person’s treasure, so you’ll never know what you will find in dumpsters or on the side of the road. There are also plenty of sites where people are giving stuff away for free, like Craigslist and Freecycle, and with some TLC these products can turn into quick cash.
  15. Borrow money from your friends and/or family. This can be risky for some, as you don’t want to damage relationships in the process, so make sure you make it as formal as possible – contracts, interest, payment schedules, and the like. Otherwise, this is a great way to get an instant and cheap loan.
  16. Borrow against your retirement accounts. This is more aggressive than borrowing from friends, as you are directly hurting your financial future. Make sure there are no penalties for doing this, too.
  17. Get another credit card. Now we are getting into the risk section, because you don’t want to take on more debt if you don’t have to, especially if you need to get 3000 bucks in order to pay off some debt. However, if you are looking for how to get 3000 dollars fast, this may be your only option.
  18. Do odd jobs for people to make money. Mow their lawn, clean their house, wash cars, babysit – the people you know may have things that they need to get done and are willing to pay someone else – you! – to do.
  19. Indeed, a part-time job, if you can get one, can be a reliable way to make money fast (details apply). Of course, it’s best if this job is ‘off the books,’ otherwise you will have to deal with paperwork and other aspects of the job that will slow down payday.
  20. The most extreme option, and thus one you should avoid at all costs, is getting a payday loan. In the most extreme circumstances, this may be possible, but don’t do this option lightly. In addition, be careful about who you deal with – there are plenty of nasty companies out there who prey on people in need. The wrong loan could cost you thousands of dollars in interest on a $3000 loan! Always work with groups that follow the rules, and find out your rights by doing research beforehand. However, if you need quick money, this is perhaps the way that’s most guaranteed to work.
  21. Don’t get the money at all. Perhaps there are other ways to meet the obligation that you are facing. If it’s something frivolous, just don’t do it – it can wait! If it’s something serious, perhaps you can restructure the payment to delay it and give you more time, or perhaps you can offer something else for it instead. Do whatever it takes to get the best deal for you and your family, given the circumstances.
  22. Always be careful when using any of these methods. Don’t mortgage your future in a risky way to get quick money, especially if it’s for something frivolous like a car or entertainment system. You might have to take risks if you need to make money for bills, but be sure they are the right risks.

I’m 16 and I Need a Job! 14 Ways to Make Money

If you are 16 years old, you probably need some extra spending money to buy iPods, music, clothes, food, and fun times with friends. But who is trying to hire a “kid” these days? Sometimes it can be hard to get a job, especially when you are competing with adults for the same work. So what do you do if you say to yourself, “I’m 16 and I need a job?” Luckily, if you use your creativity and ingenuity, you’ll be able to find plenty of work that will make you cash – even if it’s not the traditional retail/fast food route. Here are fourteen ways to make money as a 16 year old:

  1. Try the traditional jobs. Two to focus on are fast food and retail. Many of these companies will always be hiring new people due to the constant turnover. If you want to make money, you can’t afford to be picky, so keep your mind open.
  2. Walk through your city or town and look for “Now Hiring” signs. You should see plenty at food stores, shops, and retail establishments. Make sure to dress to impress – no jeans and a T-shirt. Go in and ask to speak to the manager. Be confident and ask for work. If you give off a good impression, your future employer will believe you to be ambitious and hard working. Impression is everything when it comes to making money at work! Apply anywhere and everywhere.
  3. Check online job postings and job boards not only for companies hiring but also for people hiring for freelance or odd jobs. This is a good way to earn some extra money without having to apply for jobs and go through that whole process.
  4. Do odd jobs around your neighborhood. If it’s the winter, shovel snow from driveways and walkways. If it’s spring and summer, mow grass and do landscaping. If it’s fall, rake leaves. Think of the tools you have and the things you can do for others to make money. Babysitting is also a great way to earn some extra pocket money. Even if it’s manual labor, it’s something.
  5. How about starting your own business? If you have a skill, try to market it. Can you build websites? Then you’ll have plenty of ways to make money online? Can you write? How about tutor? Are you good with computers? Write down your skills and see how you can translate those skills into cash money.
  6. If you are looking for a seasonal job, such as during the summer, line up your job a couple months before the start time. This is when other people look, so you’ll want to beat the crowd to ensure yourself the best selection of work opportunities.
  7. Sell your stuff. You can do this at yard sales, or you can sell it to friends. Another great route is to go online and sell your books, DVDs, video games, and such on sites like Amazon, Ebay, and Craigslist. You can even buy old stuff from garage sales and other sources and then resell it on these sites to make a tidy profit.
  8. There are also plenty of ways to make money online. Try making your own websites and putting up advertising, such as through Google’s Adsense. Try online writing or web design. Fill out surveys and complete offers for cash. There are plenty of ways to make money online, even if you’re a teen – and you have the advantage of being computer and Internet literate. Leverage that knowledge and abilities into cold hard cash!
  9. Start a blog and write reviews for products. Become an affiliate and earn commissions by advertising other people’s goods and services.
  10. Use sites like Craiglist to find odd jobs. Be careful about scams, though! Never go anywhere without parental consent and supervision.
  11. Don’t give up! Sure, the economy can be rough sometimes, but you need to set yourself above your competitors through your dogged determination. When everyone else gives up, you’ll be there to pick up the victory!
  12. Don’t let working and making money have negative effects on your schooling.
  13. Try to make cash whenever possible – getting taxes and the like taken out of your check can be a pain!
  14. Have fun! While it’s good to have money when you’re young, don’t let it dominate your life. You’ll have plenty of time to do that when you’re older.
